Web and Mobile app Jr. Programmer
Job Description
- Test and fix bugs in web and mobile apps
- Secure source codes of the apps
- Document extensively all app projects and app packages
- Maintain and support the web and mobile apps including but are not limited to
a. Technical support/help desk – Assist with software issues/problems
b. Users’ support – Assist clients with functionality edits to enhance user experience
c. Adding contents and other relevant information into the mobile and web app
d. Debugging
e. Server and hosting set-up and maintenance
f. Making minor edits/adding to functionalities of the app
g. Basic trouble shooting techniques - Prepare app by installing and configuring server software, installing programming language using authoring and formatting tools, ensuring cross-platform compatibility and establishing links
- Make sure that the apps are locatable by registering with search engines
- Seek feedback and suggestions from app users
- Continuously upgrade app by updating content and graphics, identifying, evaluating, and recommending improvement options, introducing new technology, and maintaining links
- Protect apps by designing and installing security precautions
- Keep equipment up and running by following operating instructions and coordinating with IT support staff for timely troubleshooting of breakdowns and performing preventive maintenance, maintaining supplies, and calling for repairs.
Job Requirements
- An IT graduate or course in similar field
- Has knowledge about
- Application Program Interface (APIs), cloud servers and hosting, server support, mobile app development
- Development Platforms
a. Phone gap technology, iOS SDK, Android SDK, Objective C
b. Java Programming, Custom PHP, JavaScript, HTML5/CSS3 - Platforms
- iPhone applications that support iPod Touch (4th and 5th generations), iphone 4S, iphone 5, 5S, 5C, 6/6+ with OS versions 8.x.
- Android applications that support mobile devices with resolutions 480 x 800, 720 x 1280, 1080 x 1920, pixels with OS versions 4.x. version
- Web based applications that support all web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, IE)
- Storage: QSLite/XML
- API and Database: SQL, .NET, C#
- SCORM versions or Tin Can
- Hardware knowledge that will be used to test the apps
- Learning Management Systems like Moodle
- Must be willing to be trained to be familiar with how to fully use the Abiva app
- Ability to work in a team
- Flexibility regarding assigned work hours and locations
- Commitment to the realization of team goals, objectives, and targets
The web and mobile app programmer is responsible for managing the back end and monitoring
the data base of the Abiva mobile and web applications. He/she will make sure that the apps
are up and running and are regularly updated with new information. He/she is also responsible
for recommending app enhancements that will allow easy access and maximization of the app
users. He/she makes sure that the apps are engaging, consistent with EduPower’s standards,
and are easy to locate and navigate.
