Celebrating Publishing Excellence at Abiva’s 88th Anniversary Gala Dinner

On September 27, 2024, Abiva Publishing House, Inc. celebrated its 88th year of commitment to educational excellence with a grand Gala Dinner held at Lanson Place, Mall of Asia. The event, themed “A Celebration of Publishing Excellence,” was a tribute to Abiva’s legacy in shaping the future of education in the Philippines.

The evening commenced with a heartfelt doxology and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, both performed by the PNU Chorale. Guests were treated to a Thanksgiving Dance by the PNU KISLAP Sining Dance Troupe, symbolizing gratitude for Abiva’s continued success.

Although Mr. Luis Q. Abiva Jr., Chairman of the Board, was unable to attend the event, his welcome remarks were delivered by his daughter, Mae Abiva Leung. This was followed by an intermission number from the PNU Chorale. Messages were delivered by distinguished representatives: Dr. Alice Orosa (Author-Coordinator, English in Perspective 7–10), Mr. Eric Solante (Regional Sales Manager-Visayas), and Fr. Daniel Estacio (Superintendent of Pasig Diocesan School).

The Gala also featured a special AVP titled Our History, Our Story, Our Future, providing a touching look at Abiva’s journey over the years. A ceremonial Blowing of Candles followed, symbolizing Abiva’s bright path ahead.

A key moment of the night was the recognition of the incumbent President of Abiva, with a plaque of appreciation awarded to Mr. Jorge Abiva Garcia. Following the turnover rites, the incoming President, Mr. Louie Gerard Abiva, delivered an inspiring inaugural speech, reaffirming Abiva’s commitment to driving educational excellence forward.

PNU President Dr. Bert Tuga then led a ceremonial toast, signaling the official start of the evening’s festivities.
