Developmental Editor (Social Studies, Math, and English)
Job Description
Editors evaluate manuscripts for conformity to the Philippine curriculum content, house standards and guidelines. They assume overall responsibility for overseeing all stages of textbook and supplemental educational resource production, ensuring punctual project completion.
Job Requirements
- Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies, Mathematics, English, Language, Communication, Journalism, and Education
- Postgraduate studies and relevant training are preferred
- Requires at least 5 years of relevant work experience in editing and publishing
- Some teaching and administrative experiences as subject coordinator, textbook evaluator, and in curriculum development
- Effective organization and time management skills required
- Results-driven; capable of leading a team, monitoring and completing tasks with minimum supervision
- Requires good problem-solving, attention to detail, fact-checking/research, editing, and writing skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in the use of technology-based productivity tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Zoom); some knowledge of Adobe InDesign is preferred
