Becoming A Great Teacher is a book based on a study that probes into the qualities and dimensions of great teaching as well as the process of becoming a great teacher in Philippine education. Through the different perspectives of three major educational stakeholders, namely, teachers, students, and great teachers, the study formulated conceptions of effective teaching and distilled conceptual themes into propositions towards the emergent theory of becoming a great teacher.
The first part of the book discusses the theories and principles of learning and teaching effectiveness found in extant literature. The last section contains the analysis of the findings of this study as well as the conclusions and the recommendations drawn from it. The last chapter is a module of the training program employed by the author for undertaking the capacity-building projects for teachers and educational leaders all over the country. The afterword summarizes the highlights of the important concepts contained in the book.
